This Saturday, Semifinal 2 of Melodifestivalen 2012 will take place in Göteborg and escXtra has taken the time to catch-up with Top Cats and ask them a few questions!

escXtra: Hi guys! Firstly, as you will be unknown to most of our readers, please can you tell us how you were formed?

Top Cats: It all started with a school assignment where we had to get grades in music, we were asked to play a song together. We agreed to play a song by Johnny Cash and after that we decided to start a band.

X: How did you decide on your band name?

TC: Cats have been a nickname for cool musicians for a long time and our former drumer's sister liked the children's program Topcat.

X: What style of music do you normally perform?

TC: We play old American Rock n roll and rockabilly

X: What can we expect from your song "Baby Doll"?

TC: You will find it hard to stand still. The song is rocking and swinging!

X: Have you got a favourite song from Melodifestivalen and Eurovision?

"Michelangelo" by Björn Skifs

X: What would it mean to you for the Swedish public to vote you through to the final, or even as the winner of Melodifestivalen 2012?

TC: Everything! We are a small band from the country with a tremendous opportunity to do what we love most... playing rock music for others!

X: Have you got a message for the readers of escXtra?

TC: We hope you become curious about us and our music.
